This product is designed to be intuitive to setup and operate, and to provide many years of trouble free service. However, we recommend that you take a few moments to read through this User Guide in order to get the best possible experience with your new pedal.[/vc_column_text][title text=”Background” text_align=”left”][vc_column_text]The VM-1 Aero is a passive volume pedal with switchable tuner mode intended for use with electric guitars with passive pickups.
The ‘no tone suck’ tuner out circuit allows an external tuner to be switched in and out as required, avoiding problems with pickup loading during normal playing.
The illuminated base provides visual indication of the selected mode from any position.[/vc_column_text][title text=”Connections” text_align=”left”][vc_column_text]The VM-1 Aero has three 1/4″ mono (TS) connections marked on the under side of the base plate.
IN – Connect to your guitar using a standard 1/4″ instrument cable
OUT 1 – Connect to your amplifier, or next pedal in your signal chain.
OUT 2 – Connect to your tuner. This output maybe left unconnected if required.[/vc_column_text][title text=”Power” text_align=”left”][vc_column_text]The illuminated base requires 9VDC power. This can be from an external 9VDC 2.1mm center pin negative pedal-board power supply, or an internal 9V battery. If no battery or power supply are available, the volume and switching functions of the pedal will still function, but the base will not illuminate.
Power consumption is approximately 20mA. A good quality 9V alkaline battery should provide approximately 20 hours use. Battery life can be preserved by removing the guitar cable from the input jack when not in use. When connecting an external power supply, the battery will be disconnected from the circuit. This allows the pedal to be run from external power, while keeping the battery in reserve.[/vc_column_text][title text=”Use” text_align=”left”][vc_column_text]In active mode, the input signal will be connected directly to the main output (OUT 1) via the volume control, and the tuner out will be disabled to avoid loading the guitar pickups. If power is connected, the base will illuminate green to indicate active mode. Move the rocker between full heel down for zero volume, and full toe down for maximum volume.
To enable tuner mode, push down firmly on the front of the rocker to engage the toe switch. If power is connected, the base will illuminate red to indicate tuner mode. The tuner output will now be enabled. With the rocker at toe down, a small amount of signal is routed to the main output for audible tuning. Move the rocker back to the heel down position for silent tuning.[/vc_column_text][title text=”Battery Installation” text_align=”left”][vc_column_text]If using an external 9VDC power supply, or if illumination is not required, this step may be omitted.
To install the battery, carefully remove the Philips head screws and four rubber feet on the under side of the pedal. Remove the aluminum base plate. Take care removing the acrylic base as the LED is inserted into a small hole at the front.
Install a 9V battery into the battery snap provided. Be careful to connect with the correct polarity. The included white felt pad may be used if required to further secure the battery.
Carefully replace the acrylic base, aluminum base plate, and rubber feet. Ensure the LED is correctly inserted into its hole in the base. Do not over tighten the feet screws as damage may occur. Slightly above hand tight is sufficient.
It is not recommended to operate the pedal without the base installed. Using the pedal without the acrylic base will damage the LED. Using the pedal without the aluminum base will reduce rejection of noise from electromagnetic interference.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][title text=”Safety Instructions” text_align=”left”][vc_column_text]Read, Keep & Follow these instructions

Service is required when the apparatus has been
damaged in any way, such as:
Power-supply cord or plug is damaged
Liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen
into the apparatus
The unit has been exposed to rain or moisture
The unit is dropped or the enclosure is
damaged
The unit does not operate normally or changes
in performance in a significant way
Dismantling, rewiring, removing components or
otherwise altering the function of the unit may
cause unexpected behavior and will invalidate

Use the small slider switch marked S2 located on the circuit board next to the toe switch. This switch toggles the active state indication color between green or blue. Tuner mode is always red and there is no option to change this.
Caution
